“Dinner with Dumas” at Upshur Street Books
“Dinner with Dumas,” an evening of food, wine, and adventure including readings from a new work by foodlorist and writer Michon Boston based on the culinary life and writings of Alexandre Dumas (pere). Alexandre Dumas, known for his historical novels The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo, was the quintessential bon vivant of his time. One of his lesser known talents, except among intimates, was being a world-class gourmet. His last work, Le Grand Dictionnaire de Cuisine was published posthumously in 1873.
Food and wine by Petworth Citizen chef Jerry Zawacki. Performances by actors Clayton LeBouef who’s appeared on HBO, NBC, Arena Stage, Center Stage; and Bette Cassatt a professional stage fight choreographer awarded “Best Female Actor-Combatant” from the Society of American Fight Directors.
