Ep. 44 - A Culinary Journey with JULIA and Janet Cam
JULIA, based on the life of the "French Chef" star and cookbook author Julia Child, is back for a 2nd season on Max. Wine expert and culinary strategist JANET CAM is also back on the podcast in Episode 44 for another conversation with The Boston Sisters about good wine and food (see previous podcasts below). Janet Cam was the co-founder of Washington, DC's storied Le Pavillon restaurant, the first nouvelle cuisine restaurant of its kind in the U.S. In the podcast, Janet shares her wine and culinary journeys and challenges. The conversation also highlights how the JULIA series mirrors the personal and professional challenges for women in male-dominated spaces as we see “The French Chef” and Julia Child’s star rise.

Created by Daniel Goldfarb (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), HBO Max’s JULIA is inspired by Julia Child’s extraordinary life and her long-running public television series, The French Chef, which pioneered the modern cooking show. Through her singular joie de vivre, she and her team must navigate WGBH, the White House and a threat from their past, while continuing to spearhead female-driven public television that confronts social issues still prevalent today.
